What are the different names for soft drinks in different regions of the us?!
I don't know if that's a midwest thing or just us...
I know in Jersey they call it "soda".
so yeah...if you know the regions, let me know..
if not, just tell me what you call it, and where you're from.
I'm not looking for an argument, so don't tell me that your way is the right way.
FYI: The formally correct term is "soft drink".
Thanks for any & all suggestions!!
:]

I don't think there is a formally correct term for pop. If you're getting technical about it, then it would 'carbonated beverage'.
I live in Canada (Ontario), and we call it pop.
Where I grew up in Ohio (midwest), we called it pop, too. Now that I'm in California, I've noticed they call it soda here.
In some of the south, any drink, carbonated or not (including lemonade) is called 'coke' - regardless of whether it's a Coca-Cola product or not.
In the south, just about everything is asked by saying' "Ya'all wantacoke?"
Unless, you are requesting desert, which is an RC Cola and a moonpie.. so you would ask for "a cola anda pie".
I live in Oregon and we call it pop
I think it IS a Mid-west thing. I live in central Indiana and we call it pop. In North Carolina they call it cola or soda.
WI. we call it pop and some call it soda.
It seems we use both terms. It use to be just pop.
I'v even heard in some states it's soda pop????
