I'm confused about cheese...?!

Question: How do they make it like orange, and why do all cheeses taste different if they are all made out of milk?

Often Annatto is used which is a natural plant dye, meaning the manufacturers can label the product "no artificial colour" however it has been known to cause more food related allergies than many artificial colours and additives!

diffent types of milk, aging, food coloring, processing....

types of milk, aging
food coloring

Cheese can be any color you'd like actually. You'd just need some food coloring and you could make it blue. Or just leave it out and it'll turn green? Why do you really care about cheese!? =P

cheese that is orange is dyed
cheeses taste different because of the bacteria used and environments it is made in

Confused about cheese? Ahh... what a scary world we live in today when cheese makes us think.

They taste dif by how long they age.

Oh my god you are so random! [: aging, dye, proccessing, milk... idk im not a cheesee person. lol

in factorys they use different kinds of milk from different cows. sometimes they use milk from goats. and the color, the color isnt food coloring! the cheese is its color because of when it is made it comes out really hot so they cool it down, they have to burn the cheese to make it the color. if your ever woundering why cheese has a color and why is because when they are wrapping it up they dont want to get confused and take a bite out of it and say oh this is Swiss! and then put it back in the correct wrapper.

hope this helps! =D

Annato is the coloring used for cheddar cheese. Each cheese is made in a different manner and aged (or not) for a period of time. As an example Cheddar is aged for months to develop the flavor (It rots effectively) and Fresh Mozzerela is eaten immediately.
