Do you salt bacon while it is frying?!
Answers: I saw a cooking show where they actually salted the bacon while cooking. Sounds like the actions of a crazy person to me.
Bacon is naturally salty. No need for it. unless you are going to be adding it to a stew or something that is bland.
sounds crazy to me too i have never did that and dont plan on it either
no. bacon is naturally salty. I guess you could if you REALLY like salt. It's very unhealthy though.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
I always thought bacon was salty enough already.
There is enough salt in it already.
yeah never heard of that
what were they cooking?
usually you drain the bacon
THEN add salt whatever else
no they must want 2 die cuz thats crazy
No, bacon is already salted.
NO, you probably saw the fresh bacon that had not been cured and smoked (where they add salt) like bacon for breakfast. The one in the cooking show is probably pancetta or just fresh bacon from a butcher.
I try to by the low sodium bacon because I think it has TOO much salt!
UGH. Can we say heart attack?? No. I don't salt bacon. It's too salty for me already.
NO.
In all my years, I have not seen that either but it got me to thinking. What were they using that bacon for? What dish? Was there no other protein in that particular dish and the natural salt from the bacon could not have been enough? Pigs are raised differently nowadays, alot of professionals are raising their own with a totally different diet than in previous days, so their taste in OUR dishes will vary in more ways than I can possibly fathom. Bacon is also prepared in various methods, the bacon that you and I buy in the store has been filled with preservatives and that adds salt, not only the pig. So, yet again, another variable that we don't consider for our home use. These are just some possibilities and my observations, hope this gives you some insight into why they were salting the bacon on that cooking show.
not unless you want a heart attack
NO, the pork is already salty, just flip and cook done....
salt is used in the processing/preserving of bacon...don't add more... Also true for fish and ham. It's always best to under salt, easy to add at the table, impossible to remove.
I don't since it is cured and salty already
Eh, no. It's plenty salty all on it's own.
no of course not
No, it's to salty as it is.:)
No, unless you buy the unsalted bacon.
oh ewww. don't they know bacon is CURED in salt? talk about the sodium intake.
