Wahts the difference between a fruit and a vegitable?!

Question: and why are tomatoes considered fruits?

Answers: and why are tomatoes considered fruits?

A fruit is the reproductive body of a plant containing seeds. So squash, tomato's, and cucumbers could be considered fruit. A vegetable is a non-reproductive part of the plant that is eaten, typically the stalk or leaf. Lettuce and celery are good examples of vegetables.

I think it has something to do with the fact that fruits have the seeds inside. Tomatoes are fruits bc when you cut it open the seeds are within...ooohhh...that sounds mystical...:)

If they have seeds, they're a fruit. If they don't, they're a veggie.

seeds.thats why technically tomatoes and bell peppers fall under fruit.

Strawberries are a fruit. Tomatoes are fruit but often considered a vegetable in a salad.

The big question to ask is, DOES IT HAVE SEEDS?

If the answer is yes, then technically, you have a FRUIT.
