Color coded bread ties?!

Question: I was once told that the twist ties on bread loaf bags are color coded to indicate to the person arranging the bread as to which day it was either stocked on the shelf or delivered or basically to know which loaves are fresher than others.

I always seem to get the old bread that molds in a few days, so if there is any truth to this concept (above) I'd really like someone who is in the know to fill me in.

Another trick is to always reach to the back of the shelf. They put the older bread to the front.

yes color coded ties indicate which day of the week it has been baked and usually the fresher stuff is placed towards the back of the shelf and the older stuff is placed at the front
