Brits.....what are digestive biscuits?!

Question: I am a former chef from Canada and we have them here made by several companys and a number of imported ones, my fav is the U.K McVitties or our Peek Freans brand.

Like the other have said they are a sweetish cookie, made with whole meal flour (whole wheat) and some added wheat germ, are around 3" in diameter and are great dunked like a donut in coffee or tea.

In the U.S you may find them in sleeves at some grocery stores or in the Imported food aisle with any British goods, there are a number of sites in the U.S tht sell imported British goods,or if you have friend in Canada we have one made by a U.K based firm called Peek Freans, they could send you a few boxes.

A digestive biscuit, sometimes referred to as a sweetmeal biscuit, is a semi-sweet biscuit or cookie, originating in Scotland, and popular there and in other Commonwealth countries.

I'm not Brittish, but I think they're like antacids.

Its got nothing to do this dijestion. The typical digestive biscuit contains coarse brown wheat flour (which gives it its distinctive texture and flavour), partially hydrogenated vegetable oil, sugar, wholemeal, cultured skimmed milk, partially inverted sugar syrup, raising agents, and salt. Its just a traditional trademark of a biscuit. And you can get chocolate coated ones too, they are the best..

plain boring biscuts . the chocolate ones are better =]
