curry....lol...it is really

Curry... (with chips)

good old fish an chips

Apparently its curry but I still prefer fish n chips..with mushy peas!

It's got to be fish and chips, surely. Curry may be popular, but people like curries in lots of countries. Mostly when I've been abroad the locals have smirked at the idea of FnC. To be our national dish it's important that foreigners don't like it too. (ps Sorry Wales and Scotland, but you've got Lava Bread and Deep-Fried Mars Bars).

it seems to be curry, more specifically chicken tikka massala, but thats not my fave.
mind you i've been all over the world and never had bangers and mash with onion gravy as good as we do it here, so I would choose that.

sheeps head soup

Pre-packed microwave rubbish

Fish and Chips or Shepards pie.x

Give us a bash at the bangers and mash.

Fish and chips.

fish ,and chip
roast beef yorkshire pudding and veg
pie and mash must be from kelly's roman road bow in london

Roast beef and Yorkshire Pudding
Battered Fish and Chips from the chippy
Cornish Pasty in the South West peninsula

In latter years, Curry, especially around Wolverhampton!

I live in the US but know and have known many from the UK and they always say Fish and Chips. Personally, I love them and though there are a "few" and I mean only a few places in the NY/NJ area that have really good FnC's...they will never compare to what I had when I visited the UK.

cod and chips with mushy peas

There is no one national dish, there are several
Fish and chips
roast beef and trimmings (the french call us rosbeefs)

to name a couple

Don't know about England but Scotlands is Haggis neeps and tatties

It used to be Fish & Chips.
Now the most popular dish in England (or Great Britain for that matter) is Chicken Tikka Masala
