How bad could it be....?!
Answers: to eat several times a week (at one sitting) 11 cups of hot buttered popcorn. I recently had my cholesterol checked and it was really high. Any thoughts....
that's a lot of butter. If it's prepackaged popcorn, that's even worse because it containes HYDROGENATED fat/oil. Which is a real cholestrol killer. Try purchasing an air popper, it pops corn without using any butter or oil. You can then melt a butter like product that is healthy, like a heart smart "butter" that does not contain hydrogenated anything.
Avoid fast foods, and sugary substances. Use fats and sugars in small moderation. Eating lots of fresh fruit and veggies will help to lower cholestrol.
My mom's was really high. the doctor was about to put her on meds. On her own, she dropped it about 30 points by a healthy lifestyle with what she ate, and working out (walking, weightlifting...)
There are also certain foods that help to lower it... oatmeal, oilve oil, yogurt, certain juices (cranberry, pomegranite due to the antioxidants in them)...
you want to lower your bad cholestrol and raise your good cholestrol.
eat oatmeal to remove it from your body
Yea, cut it back a little.
The rule is, with all things, moderation.
But, I have hi cholesteral and it runs in my family, regardless of what i eat.
oatmeal....stand away from the FAT...popcorn with brewers yeast on it is just delicious and good for you too.
Obviously the butter is your problem.
So. What do you do about it?
Start experimenting with butter flavors w/less fat.
Experiment with seasonings!
Popcorn by itself is not that bad. so just leave the butter away..
change ur meal plan to something betta, good and healty food.
