Do red and green bell peppers taste the same?!
Answers: or are they different?
red peppers are "riper" than green ones and so they have a slightly sweeter, mellower taste. (That doesnt necessarliy mean better than the slightly sharper taste of green ones). I guess we see more green ones as they are ready sooner and get to the shops faster.
While a red bell pepper is the fully ripe version of a green bell pepper, it is much sweeter. Same with yellow, purple, and orange bell peppers.
They always tasted the same to me.
In our garden if the green bell peppers weren't picked before a certain time they would start to turn red in spots.
I think so. I think the different colors are just a visual effect thing, know what I mean? They are both still "Bell Pepper's". Taste the same to me anyways. Hope this helped. Take Care.
Your dog can't see color.
Green peppers: slightly bitter.
Red peppers (yellow and orange also): are sweeter
They are all great for roasting.
Red peppers are much milder and usually cost more
