Is frozen shirmp pre-cooked?!

Question: so i bought some frozen shrimp today, and i was wondering if it was pre-cooked? it's the stuff you buy in the freezer section, i cooked it and followed the directions exactly, it said to boil it in boiling water with 1/4tsp of salt for 5 mintes, is it okay to eat?

first thing is if the shrimp is pink it is cooked and just needs to be heated or thawed and you are good to go. If the shrimp is Grey or close to that color it is raw and you cook it until pink or it almost looks orangish. then you are safe, good luck

sometimes

not always. the bag or box will specify if they are cooked or not.

Yes you can thaw it and eat it raw if you want (it is the same as cocktail shrimp.

yes obviously

It can be either pre-cooked or raw. If the box doesn't say, the easiest way to tell is the color. If it is grey then it is raw if it is that pinkish red color then it is cooked.

The box/bag says wether it's precooked or not...and if you EVER feel nervous about eating something, DON'T EAT IT.

if the flesh is pink, then it is cooked. if it is gray and translucent, its raw.

Usually it is. If the shrimp is gray it is not cooked. If it is pink it was previously cooked then freezed.

yes. well most of the time. just check the bag. it will usually say if it is pre cooked or not.
