Dried beans vs canned beans. Nutritionally, is there really a difference?!
Answers: Besides the slightly elevated sodium in canned beans, nutrition wise is there a difference between dried beans & canned beans?
Canned beans have more sodium, but if you rinse them off several times under cold water you get rid of most of the extra sodium they use to preserve them. It saves you the time to soak and cook the beans yourself.
Nope, beans are the same once cooked. All canned beans are is cooked beans. Eat and enjoy!!
Read the can again. It's not "slightly elevated" sodium, it's loaded with sodium. You'll notice that canned beans have more flavor than dried beans when you make them. That's mostly because of the sodium.
Other than that, there isn't much difference.
there is always a difference between processed foods and home cooking.
