What kind of olive oil do u use, why?!
Answers: what ever kind is on sale
Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) because it's recommended by Rachel Ray.
light extra virgin because of the mild flavor
Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Bertoli because it tastes really good!
For cooking, such as stir frying vegetables I use the cheepest generic I can find. For salads, drizzling on sliced vegetables or dunking french bread in any brand of extra virgiin from Italy,Spain Greece or California. The flavor of the vegetables is what your going for when you cook, and your only using the olive oil, because it resistant to high temps(as opposed to other oils) which makes the food hotter/cook better. When using it on uncooked stuff, you want the taste of the oil to come through as well and the lighter the better. If you want to cook something oriental, use sesame oil instead. It burns hot like olive oil, but imparts a nice flavor.
Zoe extra virgin olive oil
Good quality, and it's pretty cheap at Amazon.com
Colivita when I can find it.It is sort of expensive, but it has the best taste.
I use different kinds for different things. I keep a small about of really good Extra Virgin Olive oil around for drizzling. Its flavor is too heavy for alot of uses like in certain dressings, and frying or stirfry. I use a canola / olive oil blend to saute with. and for things that I dont want alot of heavy olive flavor in. But,I dont prefer a specific brand. There are some nice spanish olive oils that arent too expensive.
