Is iced tea healthier than pop?!
Answers: Just wondering which one is better for you. I don't put a whole lot of sugar in my tea, about 1/2cup per gallon (I say not a lot based on southern sweet tea :P) I know making tea is less expensive, but is it healthier? It seems like it would be.
48 US teaspoons = 1 Cup
24 US teaspoons = 1/2 cup
Sugar
1 teaspoon = 16 calories and 4 grams of carbohydrate
1/2 cup = 384 calories and 96 grams of carbohydrate
16 ounces = 1 Pint
32 ounces = 1 Quart
128 ounces = 1 Gallon
128 ounces/1 gallon of your iced tea has 384 calories

Iced Tea without a doubt.
its got antioxidants i suppose if you have to have something you sweeten with sugar. maybe maple syrup instead of sugar? might add minerals..
Tea is definitely healthier.
No salt, sodas are loaded with salt.
The base of most sodas is a thick toxic syrup that is transported in biohazard trucks.
The base of tea is dried tea leafs and herbs.
Soda is VERY bad for you, you might as well smoke cigarettes.
ice tea is healthier for you
Sugar is the thing. A 12-oz soda pop contains 10 sugar cubes for 150 calories. And you are using for 32 oz. of tea a half-cup (127.5 gram) of sugar ... so, in Aggie Math that comes out to 3.98 grams sugar mixed per liquid ounce in tea. That comes out to 4 grams of sugar per sugar cube -- 40 grams divided by 12 liquid gives 3.34 grams.
About the same in calories. The soda in pop can dissolve tooth enamel or concrete pretty good would be the only difference.
Sure, Iced tea is healthier and it's more refreshing and my fave!
