Well...when i hear the word Comfort food....I think of cooking a good pot of beef stew served with hot corn bread.....or home made mac an cheese...or a big loaf of french bread...loaded with meat, cheese, thin tomato slices, and thin cucumber slices...and thin purple onion...with Garlic and basil leaves..and drizzled with virgin olive oil salt and pepper....pressed for about an hour...and a bowl..of homemade soup...
Comfort....and Joy of Cooking...I cook all of the time!! so...
Chocolate is a good one with homemade chocolate chip cookies...and glass of milk....that is Comfort too!! : )
I don't eat this all of the time...lets add the Pot of Pintos...fried potatoes...corn bread...and well...Comfort is what you put in the pot..around here... : )
ya'll come down and eat with us sometimes!! I'll make you a homemade Chocolate Pie...or Chocolate Jack Daniels Cake... : )

girls go for sweeter things(ice cream, candy, cake ect.) and guys go for heartier stuff(meatloaf beer, corn) i eat my comfort food when i feel depressed(mines icae cream

I'm sorry for your loss, first of all. And to answer your question, I eat a little chocolate almost every day- I love it! Sometimes it's candy, sometimes it's a brownie, ice cream, cake, all sorts of possibilities....

1 (3.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
1/2 cup water
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 (1.5 ounce) bar chocolate candy

DIRECTIONS
Prepare brownie mix according to package directions and cool completely. Cut into 1 inch squares.
In a large bowl, combine pudding mix, water and sweetened condensed milk. Mix until smooth, then fold in 8 ounces whipped topping until no streaks remain.
In a trifle bowl or glass serving dish, place half of the brownies, half of the pudding mixture and half of the 12 ounce container of whipped topping. Repeat layers. Shave chocolate onto top layer for garnish. Refrigerate 8 hours before serving.

I love Doritos Tortillas! And i have it maybe a couple times a week. especially when it's right in front of me, i just keep eating. and i eat it even when i'm not stressed or not hungry, i just absent mindely shove it into my mouth. it's awesome!

I've heard that girls go for sweeter things, however im a girl and I LOVEEEE comfort FOOD, not sweets. But when i have that time of the month - i need chocolate covered almonds to get me through the week. :) For other times like rainy/depressing days, or a breakup or a death in the family, it's mostly warm and ooey gooey deliciously rich food. I'll give you some examples, maybe you like some of these too :). Very sorry that youve been going through so much, keep your chin up, and eat the pain away like i do! lol.

- homemade macaroni and cheese with breadcrumb topping served with greens

- Shake 'n Bake chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans (any kind of baked chicken is good though)

- my grandmother's sour cream chicken recipe - it's hungarian, with a gravy made out of the chicken drippings, lots of sour cream, flour, paprika, etc. Yummmmy.

- hot hot hot buffalo wings with lots of sauce

- french fries and gravy, since i was a little girl, it was my favourite food

- grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup for a cold day

- penne with meatballs and my grandmas homemade sauce, with cheesy garlic bread and salad with oil&vinegar dressing

- thanksgiving dinner - its great as comfort food year-round!

Some others: hot chocolate with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles, tea with milk and sugar, rainbow chip cupcakes, ooey gooey chocolate cake (Since you like sweets, those are my faves) :).

Have a good night!

mine is either chicken dumpling soup, or chicken and eggnoodles(homemade, of course)...hmmm...egg mcmuffins lol...for some reason they make me so happy
i eat the soup probably 2 or 3 times a week....same with the mcmuffin...eggnoodles probably only once every few months though....during the REALLY bad times

i'm sorry for your loss.
mine are haagen dazs, home made mac & cheese, spaghetti with meat sauce and mom's chicken noodle soup.

mashed potatoes with baked ham mixed in and peas.

I am sorry to hear abut your grandfather. I try not to eat comfort foods though because having a dependency on food is not healthy.
