Cookies just don't seem to stay fresh in my cookie jar. Do you have any suggestions on how to keep them fresh!

Maybe your lid is not seated tightly. Try placing a piece of plastic wrap on the top of the jar before placing the lid on.

Place it in a container with half a piece of bread in it. It keeps them moist and fresh!

It sounds like the seal of the jar is not sealing properly. You could lay a piece of plastic wrap over the mouth of the jar and put the lid on top and seal as ususal.

I generally use a zip log bag to store my cookies--especially those that are home made. You could still use the cookie jar and the bag (if the jar isn't transparent).
