Why is it that ice cream in tubs when u first open it is soft and then later it gets hard for no reason?!

Question: 1) your freezer is set colder than at the store.

2) as it sits in the freezer, and the container gets emptier and emptier, more air gets into it, and dries it out. That makes it get harder, and thus tougher to get out of the tub.

Wow!!!Its easy...Because(I think?)When your at the store buying the ice cream in their freezer the temperature is set correctly to keep the ice cream in the perfect condition. But when you go home and put it in your freezer it gets harder because you freezer temperature is cooler than the temperature at the store!!! (I think im correct,it totally makes sense!)

perhaps your freezer is colder than the freezer at the store you bought it from?

Yup air is your enemy. If you press a sheet of plasticwrap down onto the icecream before you put it back in the freezer it helps keep it fresh longer.
