Why do people say Olive Garden is not Italian food?!
Answers: Ive been to all kinds of Italian Restraunts.. the family owned ones and Olive Garden. I thought Olive Garden had delicious food and it sure tasted Italian to me. Why do some people say its not 'Italian food'?
I am a former chef and would go as far as to say they are not "truely" Italian, like alot of restaurants things have been adapted for the dining public, there take on Italian food is an interpretation, we have one here in Canada called "Eastside marios", they to have there take on American/Italian fare.
Olive Garden is owned and operated by General Foods, and they also own Red Lobsters, there place to enjoy foods that please a number of palates, like Chinese food it has been adapted for the US market, but when you go to a genuine Italian, Chinese or other palce run by a family with either regional or a distinct cuisine, ther are some varinaces, not alot, maybe the spicing and specific, styles of food but not the basic phyloisophys.
It's a chain, and it's a far cry from authentic Italian food, meaning food you'd actually get in Italy. That's not to say it isn't good (well, sometimes), but it just isn't true Italian food.
because even though it can be quite tasty, its very american-ized and not authentic Italian.
Maybe because the greeks,spaniards,mexicans etc are all growing olive trees now, and it was the italians who started growing them and the others are copying.
It's deinately not Authentic Italian....I find that their food tastes processed. Italian food should be made with fresh ingredients.
I think they are meaning it is more Italian-esque. Its hard to find a really good italian joint any more..I need a good pizza pie!!
same reason they denigrate Mc D's and the other food places

Being rude and insulting is their nature.. They never give facts or data...
