Can I freeze milk for long term storage?!

Question: If I take a fresh container of milk and freeze it, can I then defrost it next year and drink it with no problem?

No. Milk does not freeze well. The water will freeze first, leaving the thicker fat and proteins behind, which won't freeze properly. When you thaw the milk back out, it won't mix back together properly. It will look like it's separated. It may be OK for drinking, but won't work the same way as fresh milk would for cooking or baking.

yes

Yep, you sure can.

try it and see.

Yes.
You will need to transfer it to an airtight container, for two reasons:
1. Even frozen, there are microbes that will spoil it eventually.
2. Milk can pick up the smells of other things in your refrigerator or freezer. You may not be able to smell them, but after months it can accumulate.

Good luck!

No, For one it will expand, you'll have to empty some of it from the container, and it will seperate water from the fat, even skim milk Not worth it

sure!! i do it all the time.
