It used to be said that the only thing you can take in unlimited quantities is water. Then, about a year or so ago I heard about someone who drank so much water, that (if I remember right) it diluted the electrolytes in his/ her body ( I don't remember the person's gender) so much that it killed her/him.

So keeping that in mind, I would say that if you eat too much fish, even if it isn't polluted with mercury or some other chemical toxic to humans, there is most likely something in it that health experts would warn against. I would contact a nutritionist or a doctor for an informative answer. I doubt that any professional would charge you to answer such an interesting question.
My experience in life would lend me to say that fish 2 or 3 times a week is fine, but anything more than that I would be leary of. Try mixing it up with some type of poultry like chicken or turkey.

Yes, Because of the mercury

I think the only concern about eating "too much" fish comes from the fact that many of the world's fishing spots are polluted... I know that where I grew up (Upstate NY-- Hudson River) they recomended women to limit their intake of local fish because the chemicals in the fish could cause birth defects and other nasty problems... Many Asian cultures eat fish several times a day... especially island cultures where herds of animals are relativly scarce. Look how healthy they are!

Fish is good for you. What is bad about fish is the high levels of mercury and pollutants in fish. The FDA now recommends that women of child bearing age in particular limit the amount of fish they eat per week because of this.

That's actually the exact opposite of the truth.... you CAN have too much of any one thing. Heck, too much of anything can kill you (even water or oxygen)!

Yes, too much Salmon is bad for you, whether you get straight fish or a fish oil supplement.
Also, anything living in the ocean can have enough Mercury in it to be toxic, not just one type of fish or another.

In general, having fish once a day (like one meal per day) shouldn't be a problem when you do it 2-3 times in a row, so you should be fine having it tonight... but having it every day for several days could cause problems.

Not at all.
Fish is one of the most healthy foods, a nice and clean way of get protein and vitamins...i replaced red meat with fish and i feel more active and full of energy...and yes, also i loosed weight...do u like shrimp? is a great source of vitamins...low fat...and delicious flavor...There′s lots of different types of fish...you go for the fresh ones... have a nice day.

Yes to much of any food is bad for you. Also women of childbearing age must limit the amount fish they eat. Plus if you eat to much fish you can get to much mercury in your body.

Of course it's not bad for you! I eat fish EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! Even though it doesn't taste good, it has lots of vitamins. So,eat up!!! ^_^

The reality, I'm afraid, is that too much of anything is bad for you. I, too, am a big fish lover but I don't eat it more than two or three times per week.

I am curious as to why you eat it from cans. Fish is wasted when it is canned. All the beneficial nutrients are lost along with the flavour and the texture. Try the recipe below and check out the site linked to for lots more...

Bakes Sea Bream on Roasted Herb Potatoes

For this simple recipe, per person you will require:

1 sea bream (gutted, head and tail on)
2 slices of lemon (halved)
2 slices of red onion (halved)
3 small closed cup mushrooms (halved downwards through the stalk)
3 or 4 fresh basil leaves (roughly torn)
6 slices of potato (skin on)
Pinch of dried sage
Pinch of dried thyme
Salt/freshly ground black pepper
Olive oil

The first step is to put your oven on to preheat to 200 degrees centigrade or equivalent. Mix the sage, thyme and a pinch of salt in a bowl with approximately one tbsp of olive oil. Add the potato slices and stir carefully (so as not to break them) but well until they are all well coated. Place them on to a baking tray and in to the oven for 25 to 30 minutes.

Take a large sheet of aluminium foil and drizzle a little olive oil in the centre, over an area large enough to accomodate the fish. Lay the bream on top and carefully stuff the stomach cavity with the lemon, red onion and basil. Place the mushroom halves on top. Season lightly, wrap up in to a package and place on a second baking sheet and in to the oven for about 20 minutes.

Arrange the potato slices in a circle and serve the bream on top with the mushrooms scattered around the edge.

no its not, but you'll have good brains, good for you eat as much as you can, its better than fatty beefburgers for mcdonalds, and other junk foods.
