Usually liquid ounces. Soda can is 12oz, a "normal" glass is 8oz, i think a coffee cup is 6oz, I work on a nutrition study and that's what we use generally. But a lot of ppl have glasses bigger then 8oz

scale

1 imperial cup = 0.5 imperial pints

Use a measuring cup or a scale. Get a set of measuring cups and dump the water into them and get a good estimate of how many cups are in a glass.

Just be aware: WEIGHT ounces are different than VOLUME ounces.

Glasses are not standard. They come in different sizes.

Most consider a glass of water to equal 8 oz which is 1 cup.

"One glass" of water is usually equal to 8 oz, which you can measure with a measuring cup. When they suggest drinking 8 glasses of water a day, that's the measurement they use.

I think this what you're asking. A cup is a standard measure used for cooking, it's 8 fluid ounces in the US and Canada, 10 fluid ounces in the UK, don't know about other countries. If you have anything that will measure fluid ounces, a standard measuring cup, even an empty jar or can with a fluid ounce measurement, use that. The average short drinking glass is about 8 ounces, maybe less.

I think a regular or standard glass measures to 8 fluid ounces of water.
