What fruit does Rambutan taste like?!
Answers: I am very picky about what I eat. My husband and I recently visited an Asian grocery store, and he picked up this fruit in a can stuffed with pineapple to try. I was wondering if it's taste was similar to any domesticated fruit.
Soft, a bit chewy, mildly sweet. As a picky eater you may not like it.
tastes like rambutan! wow
tastes like Lychee.. I don't like it..
Just try it. If you don't like it, chuck it. I happen to like it

rambutan tastes like lychee and lanzones
Its similar to a lychee.
It is usually covered in a red, spiky type outter shell which is removed before eating.
Very common Indonesian fruit.
Rambutan - well, it is hard to describe how it taste like to someone who has not even taste it before.
The leathery skin is reddish (rarely orange or yellow), and covered with fleshy pliable spines, hence the name rambutan, derived from the Malay word rambut which means hairs. The fruit flesh is translucent, whitish or very pale pink, with a sweet, mildly acidic flavour.
The rambutan ( Nephelium lappaceum) is a medium-sized tropical tree in the family Sapindaceae, and the fruit of this tree. It is probably native to southeast Asia, although its precise natural distribution is unknown. It is closely related to several other edible tropical fruits including the Lychee, Longan and Mamoncillo. It is believed to be native to the Malay Archipelago where the name quite literally means "hairy." In Panama, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua, it is known as mamón chino. There is a second species regularly for sale at Malay markets which is known as "wild" rambutan. It is a little smaller than the usual red variety and is colored yellow.
Seems like your answerers are partial to it, haha!
I may be Asian, but don't like it though :(
Note: Rambutan-tropical fruit, texture wise more chewy than a lychee, and it's the taste and smell that I have an aversion too.
It smells like "plastic", and tastes "raw and artificial''.
Like Lychees.. so sweet & juicy. <*-*>
