What can I do to bring back a discontinued product?!

Question: I absolutely was in love with Kraft Spaghetti Dinner with Meat Sauce. They discontinued it in March 2007. I've read several comments on various websites from people that are just as disappointed as me that they would discontinue this great product. They said they stopped production because they weren't making enough money off of it. But you couldn't find it hardly anywhere when they made it and they never advertised. Many people in my family have written to the company and the only response they got was that they didn't plan on bringing it back. Their Tangy Italian Dinner is not even remotely close to being as good. What can I do to convince Kraft to bring back this product?

Couldn't have said it better than Kelley. Try Ebay for the heck of it. I contacted V-8 because they discontinued the Peach Mango Splash. Our favorite! They suggested the fusion version, which we don't like. Also....see if Todd Wilbur's web site Top Secret recipes has a knock off.

Try starting a petition, here is a good website....

you can email the petition and hopefully gather enough signatures to made the company interested in bringing back the product. Good Luck!

This approach has worked in the past, actually it worked at Avon in the past so don't give up.

I think your already doing it...You write to the company and you get more people to write and call and petition to bring it back.

the only reason a company continues or discontinues to make a product is simply economics. it will take much more than just you and your friends writing to make this happen. if the company has decided to discontinue a product, the processor has already devoted the space from your product to another. not only is the space gone, but the equipment is also probably gone. the recipes may have been sold, and the suppliers may have new contracts which do not include ingredients for your spaghetti.
the product that has replaced your favorite has been deemed more profitable/less costly/more marketable/ and 'new and improved', or all of the above.

if it has been out of production for a year, the probability of a food giant like Kraft reformulating and remaking a product is 0.

In reality, there is probably nothing you can do to bring back a discontinued product. The company has spent megabucks in determining to drop the product. Like you, I have been heartbroken many times over a company's decision to drop a product that I really loved. Write the company to let them know that you are dissatisfied, but it will do no good!

Sam's Club used to carry an Overbrook Chicken Pot Pie which was very popular and my family LOVED it! Suddenly it disappeared from the case! I called and wrote the company.
Then a similar product re-appeared in the case. It was an Overbrook Chicken Pot Pie w/ MASHED POTATOES inside the crust. It was nowhere as good as the original. I keep calling and writing, but to no avail!

Bye! Bye! Spaghetti Dinner w/ Meat Sauce!
