Is it dangerous to eat burnt food?!

Question: Is it bad for you to eat it, besides the terrible taste?

Answers: Is it bad for you to eat it, besides the terrible taste?

Yes it is bad for you...acrylamides are chemicals produced when you fry, grill or roast. These are carcinogens and are highly dangerous for you.
Eat a lot of dark leafy greens to help clean out the liver and digestive tract so your body can assimilate food better and be able to detoxify itself.
The National Health Institute said "MeIQ, MeIQx, and PhIP are heterocyclic amine compounds formed when meats and eggs are cooked or grilled at high temperatures." These compounds are also found in cigarette smoke.

I'm sure you're not interested in eating burnt foods...but if burnt means bbq to you, then be careful about how much of it you eat.
Otherwise, if it's just burnt food that happened while cooking, you'll be fine because you probably won't eat it because it'll be, well, inedible.

No i dont think so. I like mine to have alil crisp to it.

i dont think so
i dont see what could be wrong with it

Not sure, try it and let me know.

i dont think so. Someone told me it was good for your stomach?!?! hard to believe cuz it has such an icky taste

I dont think so

its probably not healthy (like fried foods compared to baked)

personally i would just not eat it and move on to something that tastes good

If you have digestion problems such as acid reflux or a ulcer Im sure it would cause discomfort. But before we had stoves most every thing was made by fire and no meat thermoter or temp guage and all those people lived.

no. over cooked food cannot hurt you
only under-cooked can

if causes food poisoning
and no one wants that!!

This ScienceNews article from 2005 says that the US government now lists certain chemicals found in "meats when they're cooked too long at high temperature" as carcinogenic. It also says:

Finally, the report notes that while inconclusive, published studies in people "provide some indication" of human risks from eating broiled [grilled] or fried foods "that may contain IQ and/or other heterocyclic amines." The National Cancer Institute conducted one of those suggestive studies. It compared the diets of 176 stomach cancer patients and another 503 cancerfree individuals. Overall, people who regularly ate their beef medium-well or well-done faced more than three times the stomach cancer risk of those who ate their meat rare or medium-rare, according to a 1997 report of the research.

nope, and even though i can't eat it anymore, i used to LOVE the taste of burnt cheese, weird i know haha.

yes it is dangerous.. an aunt of mine died of stomach cancer and she was fond of eating food that is burnt (usually at the bottom of the utensil)..

no, but its probably not gonna do much for you, just taste gross

I'm pretty sure it can cause cancer, ur basically eating ash anyway. i stay away from it coz i dont need it anyway

No, just distasteful.

i believe the burnt side contains carcinogenic( if i spell it right) substance and may cause cancer.
i always discard the burnt/black food, if any.

You can choke on the burnt crumbs.
