I need to know the best chocolate?!

Question: Hi I'm like crying because I really need good chocolate but Hershey's milk chocolate smells like fecal matter? I'm really upset because I was watching CNN and Trader Joe's is closed. What country makes the best chocolate? I have my card ready and I am going to order online.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. Love you.

Try Esther Price chocolates. The comany is based in Dayton, OH. They are addictive so be careful! Not terribly expensive either. LOVE THEM!! www.estherprice.com

chocolate from Germany or England is GREAT! I prefer the Lindt 85% cocoa. Hope this helps!

galaxy milkyway caburys fruit and nut

Toblerone is one of the finest I have ever tried.

Switzerland!

sweden, germany,in grass valley there is a place called Marathana Chocolates and i my self who is picky loves their chocolates ?

Belgium chocolate! its the best!

Hello!

ghirardelli is better than anything i've ever tasted..mmm

Sweet shop from Texas. I sell them in my store. Sold them for years then a lady told me they were on OPRAH'S list of favs.
They're yummy!!!

Lady Godiva is most definitely the best chocolate--smooth, rich, no bitter after taste. Totally delectable. Forget Toblerone. Lady Godiva is WAY better than any other chocolate that I've ever had. It is expensive, but so worth even just a little taste!!

Cadbury's, Nestle or Green & Blacks from the UK. LIndt from Switzerland.
Hope this helps.

Lindt...don't stray away from lindt chocolate

Holland has Droste's Cacao (cocoa) which is delicious and can be used to make hot chocolate and many other chocolate desserts. I lived there for years, and upon my return to USA, brought 4 boxes of Droste's back with me. What a surprise to find it in my local California market.

Once you try it you will not go back to Hersheys. Droste's can be ordered at Amazon.com but try your local markets first.

Belgium, of course, makes the best chocolate, along with Holland. No one goes to Belgium without bringing back chocolate. It is superb!

By the time you order though, and get it in the mail, Trader Joe's should be open. Try there first, then Amazon.

Good luck. And I love America, but we just don't do chocolate justice. Think Europe.

There are so many different chocolates.
Cadbury chocolate is thick tasting but delicious
Belgium Chocolate is thinner but smoother, equally delicious,
Even the really dark chocolate is an acquired taste but supposed to be good for you.
In the end only you can find one to suit your own needs.

My favorite is El Rey chocolate, a little bit has so much flavor I don't have to eat much. They sell them in large chunks or coins at Whole Foods if you have one nearby. You can also order online, I usually get the highest percentage dark chocolate they offer. I noticed a lot of San Francisco bakeries favor this brand for their cakes.

Second favorite is Chuao, I love their parcheta heat-shaped chocolates with a passion fruit filling. They also have an amazing hot chocolate, once you have it you'll never go back to anything else. Both are available online too.

If you can't get a hold of those, try Scharffen Berger or Dagoba.

Order some milk chocolate from Germany. They are known for it.

Esther Price chocolates from Ohio---I have eaten chocolate from around the world, and Esther Price is by far the best---as are their fillings. Plus, you can call them and they will put together a box of chocolates just for you---all caramels, all dark chocolate covered almonds---all cremes--whatever you crave.

I used to live just a short distance from the original store---that is a bad thing---now I live across the country and order them by the crate. Gawd!

Cadbury, without a doubt. Be careful though, because in the USA Cadbury for some years been made under license by Hershy. It's that time of year though when you just MIGHT find imported creme eggs :o)
If you live anywhere near a place that has British imports you can find Cadbury Flake!
Here, the concern is shelf life. It keeps for months but does eventually go rancid. PLEASE DON'T judge Cadbury by something that has sat on a shelf too long.

Of the American brands the only problem with Godiva is the cost, and the only problem with Ghirardelli is remembering how to spell it.

Switzerland is supposed to make the best. I have gotten a few gifts of chocolate from there at it is amazing I have to admit

This is my absolute favorite brand that is mass produced and available in the US unless you are going for gourmet but it is very pricey. Good luck! I am so hungry now after looking at that. I went to Belgium a few years ago and had local chocolate that was great but I can't find it since back in the US.
