Can you help me with my milkshake problem?!
Answers: I want to put up a milkshake business. The problem is I think that putting all ice cream ingredient will be too costly. I want it to be more affordable especially for my customers. So, do you think its possible for me to mix in some crushed iced with the ice cream plus the extra milk (with sugar) as an extender? Would it be as good as the milkshake with all ice cream in it?
might not be as thick with all the milk in there, i work at dq and i find that just putting a lil more milk makes the shake watery. crushed ice wouldnt seem asmuch like a milk shake... who knows though it could work plus itd be healthier without all that ice cream. what you COULD do is get really good industrial blender and blend the crushed ice with the milk then pour that into the shake cup add the flavor and the rest is ice cream, thats how we make our moolattes (instead of milk we use sweetened water) and come to think of it, it is as thick as a milkshake. goodluck w.ur business!
Try it and ask people. That's the only way you'll know!
This is how my Weight Watcher's shakes are made so yes definitely! As a matter of fact....you can advertise that it's healthy and people will go nuts for a healthy ice cream shake! Try yogurt instead of ice cream and milk too. But as far as cutting costs, sounds great and really, it's not bad. I actually use ice in mine not just water...obviously.
Cheap ice cream ok
Milk ok
Ice no
I was in the canary islands over the holidays and when I ordered a chocolate milkshake - I got exactly what you are proposing. An ice shake.
It wasn't unpalatable, but I think if I am going to indulge in a milkshake- I want a high quality, thick, whole ice cream shake with fresh ingredients.... and I will pay whatever that costs.
Don't underestimate what your customers will pay for good quality. Don't cut the quality of milkshakes if that is what you are building your business around.
have a look into the softserve icecream. You buy it in powder form and mix it with water it makes heaps. You will have to purchase an icecream machine initially but it would be worth it. I wouldn't skimp on the ingredients by padding it with milk, ice and sugar, you want to be known as the best milkshake place, not the cheapest.
NO. never put ice in a shake or malt. keep it real.
