You can get licorice at most stores. In particular you can get them at any grocery stores (Safeway, Albertson's, etc.). You can also get them at places like Rite Aid and Walgreens. If you want chocolate like Hershey's chocolate you can get that almost at any place that sells food. But if you want a specific type of chocolate like Godiva or See's Candies you should go to one of their stores.
