What is the correct way to season a wok?!


Question: wash your wok when you get it home in hot soapy water drain and dry get your wok real hot like smoking then pour a little oil in and move the oil round until all off the surface is covered never and i repeat never wash your wok in soapy water just wipe it out with kitchen paper when its cool

This is the site I used for mine.

I'm not sure about the proper way but my mom season an iron wok by cooking fresh milk in it, afterwhich frying lard in it, then finally coating the wok with a healthy layer of oil. I suppose there is no correct way, as it depends on material the wok is made of.
