About high class cuisine?!

Question: I've noticed hamburger commercials make fun of high class restaurants for serving small portions.

The joke they always use is the one where two people just came from a date and decided they aren't full and opt for a hamburger to 'finish their date off'.

I'm not sure who the joke is on, those with no tastebuds who think a pound of greasy fries is dinner, or those who have taste and prefer to enoy food rather than inhale it like a vacuum.

What do you think?

It may be a question of quality over quantity. Maybe the small portion plates have enough quality flavor that you ignore the size of the meal. But, I think it would depend on individual tastes. What I think the commercials are trying to say is that the hamburger joints just give you more for the money (quantity wise). It also is a matter of perceived value. Some people believe that because they spent a certain dollar amount that what they got was worth it. Generally, these people are food snobs or status quo obsessed yuppies.

I think the less you eat the less you want to eat, and if you don't eat junk food for a while and get used to small portions then you become very comfortable with that and find yourself full with a modest portion.

They both have their place in life. If they didn't one of them would go out of bisiness.
The fine dining experience is just that an experience. A lot of it is the way you are treated. You do get much better service that you could ever imagine. Some people eat there just because they can and they lift their noses very high in the air, if you know what I mean.
I have had some great meals at greasy spoons, and fine dining places. An awful lot of it is who you enjoy the meal with.pp

eat burnt dead fish

Many people will go to restaurants not for the quality of the food or the high class cuisine, but only because the portions are "huge" and they can take enough home for another meal. Or they will hit the famous buffet tables and eat until they can't stuff another thing down. It's just how some people think...it's not dinner time....it's trough time.....

just a little bit of food and loads of fancy scroll's
