I have a bbq sauce i want to bring to market, what are the steps to packaging and selling professionally?!

Question: The first step would be to look into laws and regulations concerning food production.

Are you in the U.S.? If so, you have town & county laws, (including zoning), state and federal. Some links to show you what I mean:

http://www.foodsafety.psu.edu/processor/...
http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~comm/foodbiz.h...

If you think you have a really good product, you might try having it co-packed for you. The Penn State link has some good information.

Then you have to figure out storage and distribution. Getting your product into a large grocery chain is no small task and can be quite costly. Do you just want to sell at farmer's markets, roadside stands, or on the internet? Marketing your product is no small issue:

These are all just suggested starting points. You have a lot of research to do if you want to make it work.
