How long can potatoes keep in the fridge?!

Question: I've had a bunch of potatoes in the fridge for about 3 weeks and I need to know if I can use them in my soup or if I should buy new ones.

In my experience, one should not place potatoes in the 'fridge. Rather, they should be kept in just a cool, dark place. The light of the refrigerator could make them green , which means they are toxic for human consumption.

are they already cut? if so, then do not eat it...

if they are not cut, then i guess it's fine, unless there's moldy stuff on it.

Throw them away and buy new ones. Don't store potatoes in the refrigerator, or they will become too sweet. Store in a cool, dark, dry place, making sure the temperature in the area is about 45 to 50 degrees F.

When they start growing things, might be the time to say SEE YA!

or mold! lol
