Traditional British Columbian bread is made a number of ways but Vancouver Sourdough is the most common. Use milk in it and vinegar in addition to the sourdough base with a fine white milled flour. Shape it into oval loaves and let rise twice. The secret is to brush with butter and when warm dust with a little salt and flour.

Also popular are egg bread, Irish soda bread with raisins and/or oats, cinnamon-raisin bread, traditional Okanagan zucchini-vanilla loaf, lemon loaf cake, Danish sunflower seed bread with pumpernickel and dark rye flour, French loaf. ciabatta, pitas and Jewish rye bread.
