Depends where you live. Most tap water in developed countries is as just as good as bottled water. So save your money, and either drink tap water, or spend your money on something worthwhile like beer.
The purported benefits of bottled water are equally well-marketed:
Bottled water tastes good
Bottled water is convenient
Bottled water is "pure and natural"
*But there's an article entitled "After testing more than 1,000 bottles of water, NRDC found that 33% were contaminated ". which means that bottled water is also contaminated and some of them are tap water with labels
I dont care whats in tap water it tastes better than bottled water i live in the uk our water hasn't done me any harm for the past 28 years so i'll keep drinking it
I'm not sure how much better the bottled water is. Granted, I'm sure it goes through more of a purification process than public water systems but has anyone done testing on bottled water to see if they also contain traces of these same drugs?
Have you considered what chemicals are leaching into the water from the plastic bottles?
I can't even imagine how tiny, tiny tiny the amounts of these medications were. Talk about trying to alarm the public needlessly.
By the time medications are passed through the body, then through all the treatment processes, I just can't believe they are going to harm you in the teeny tiny diluted amounts they found.
There have been studies done showing that a lot of bottled "pure" water is in fact contaminated, in some cases more so than any tap water.
I don't know about other parts of the world but in most of Ontario the water is treated with fluoride which helps with the prevention of cavities in teeth, they have been adding it to tap water for decades. There have been recent studies done on younger children that have shown there is a rise in the number of cavities they are getting and it is being attributed to the fact more and more parents are giving their children bottled, not tap water.
I think bottled water is a great money maker for companies and a waste of money for the consumer, as always I will be enjoying my tap water!
