Why are pittas and wraps better for you than bread?!


Question: i have been trying to cut out bread and eat wraps and pittas instead.

Is this a healthy swap???

No I wouldn't say that: a healthier swap would be to less refined carbs (eg wholemeal/granary breads) not just switch to another white, quick-release energy source like white pitta or wraps.

yes. they are flat and have less carbs. go whole wheat and it will reduce the carbs even more.

Definately matters on what you eat but also the quantity there is no problem with wholemeal bread

I have no clue but prefer pitta breads and wraps, so its good that I'm eating the better stuff. I learn something new on here everyday.....I like this site.

Pittas and wraps are good for people suffer from allergies and IBS.

Don't let looks fool you! Some wraps/tortillas are actually worse for you than bread. Tortillas generally contain lard/fat. Read labels and compare nutrition facts.
