Do you have a better way to peel a banana than my way?!
Grab the "long handle" end of the banana and rapidly rip it to one side-- if you go slow, mushing will occur.
Typically a nice peel will result.
Sometimes a split forms. If this happens, then simply separate at the split.
No tools required!

I read a cool "magic" trick in an old Penn & Teller book on how to rig a banana so that when your friend peels it, it's already sliced. You have to do it right before you serve it so it doesn't get brown spots. Take a long hat pin or sewing needle and wash it and then poke a hole into the banana and wiggle the pin firmly from one side to the other to slice the banana inside the peel. Then, pull the pin out and go down an inch and a half or so and do it again. Repeat until you have slices the entire banana inside the peel. Then, immediately give it to someone to peel for their cereal.
Wow!!
Also, my 2 year old daughter never eats a whole banana so I just cut it in half right through the peel. She eats her half and I save the other half for later and then slice off a thin slice on the brown cut end when she wants to eat it later.
You could just slice the whole unpeeled banana in half if you want to make a banana split. Just shake the 2 halves out of their peels and into the bowl.
Good Luck :)
Rip it in half!
i eat the whole banana, including the peel =]
Yes, if you peel the banana from the bottom end, you will get
alot less banana strings.
