Does anyone really know why people found drugs in our water,?!
Answers: Also is the drugs just in our tap water or in bottled water too. If you have any information please post your thoughts because I am so so so curious.
I believe they have only tested the tap water in some communities.
This happens when people take the medications, then go to the bathroom. The water gets flushed, then treated. It then goes back into the waterways. Only some if it apparently gets treated again, and then ends up in our drinking water!!!!
And the drugs are not filtered out. So we consume them when we drink tap water.
I think bottled water that comes from tap water will have them, or may have them.
But bottled water from springs probably won't.
Government has too much time on their hands.
It's South American Drug lords trying to get us addicted to Krack so that we will buy it
Yes. When you take medicine and pee, the flushed water goes to a water treatment plant and essentially back into the drinking water supply. When we take drugs of any kind we may not absorb all of it, some may pass through us when we pee, and the treatment plant doesn't remove the drug particles.
Most of the drugs come from people's bodies. Medication goes through your system and most of it comes back out in your urine. Also, people flush pills down the toilet when they are done with them. Yes, it's in bottled water too. Water all comes from the same place, lakes and rivers, ect. And the drugs end up in these places. Purifying the water doesn't get the drugs out, just other contaminants. It's really nothing to worry about right now. The scientist on my news tonight said that the amount is like one asprin in 100 olympic sized swimming pools. We should definitely do the research to fix it before it gets worse, though.
Drugs enter the water in many different ways, from cattle when rains and melting snow carry manure and urine into streams or rivers, from people's waste (urine and feces), from companies improperly disposing of hazardous chemicals, from people flushing meds down the toilet, leaching from Landfills that were not properly built, and I'm sure there are MANY more ways. Drugs have been found in bottled water since most of it comes straight out of the tap....YES, that expensive water you buy is Nothing more than tap water that may or may not have been run through a filter. Virtually EVERY water source tested has proven to contain drugs/chemicals. The only safe way to rid the water of drugs is through Reverse Osmosis, which is both expensive and results in the wasting of gallons of water in order to produce 1 gallon of pure water. Most cities and towns do not even test for drugs, so don't trust them if they say the water is safe.
Well, I think of it this way and this is just my opinion. Twenty five or even 5 years ago we didn't have the technology we have today and they're going to find lots of things they didn't know as the technology gets better. So I wouldn't worry about it too much. Its been around a long time, we're just now knowing how it filters back through the system. Think about it, everything that's on this planet right now has always been here, just in a different form. Everything will be fine.
It sure makes you think about how clean our drinking water is. If they supposedly filter out everything, then why is medications left behind. Very gross!=)
Because people who take drugs pee it out, this gets into the water system etc etc
