Question: I opened a can of coconut milk (never used it before) it looks like lumpy milk, but doesn't have a sour smell. What's it supposed to look like?

Thats exactly whats it is supposed to look like!
Just pour it out and mix it up a bit.

its supposed to look like that, the lumpy parts are fat, you can stir it in or strain it out, either choice is yours

well, I use this all the time for a cake recipe. First off let me say that coco lopez is by far the best brand out there. It has the best taste. When you open it it is a clear liquid on top with a white lump at the bottom. The white lump looks similar to crisco. Just pour everything in the can into your recipe and mix it up. By the Way, I have never opened a can that looked like lumpy milk so I dont know if it is bad or if it is just the brand you bought

It separates. Just mix it up.
