Answers: ok im a vegetarian and when i eat lunch at school they have salads. with that said, ALL the veges. and fruit taste fake or unripe. thats it, unripe. or ready to eat. the carrots are extremly flexible too and taste like plastic. is there somthign wrong? and on our lunch serveys i ask for more vegetarian meals yet there have been none. so now i am asking is there a spray thye use to force growth upon these veges/fruits? or somthing to make them LOOK ripe but really not be ripe? thank you for reading, i appreciate all answers.

Same at my school. I am not a vegetarian, but I do think that the veggies are pretty gross there. The lunches are weird too, the chicken nuggets bounce!
It's a conspiracy to harm everyone lol only joking. Either the vegeatbles have been frozen or are on the verge of becoming off. Or it could just be the way they cook them or store them, if these are the cases you may not be getting the vitamins from them as these particular causes actually lose the viltal vitamins, if i was you i would bring in my own vegeatbles and fruit if you do not enjoy the food,
Most likely, it's the preservatives added to the fruits and veggies to make them last longer. They don't exactly cut up all the fruit and veg they serve from fresh, most of it is purchased from a purveyor already cut, and some is even frozen. When the fruits and veg are purchased, they come in bulk containers with massive shelf life in the refrigerator to prevent them from spoiling in commercial food service situations.
Oh dear, it is not even safe to be a vegetarian any more. I get that off taste when I eat salads from a fast food restaurant. I am afraid it may be the preparation AND the storage for long periods of time. It is always safer to take food from home if at all possible. You have control and can be assured of a better quality product. Veggies that are not ripe are lacking in nutrition. If we only knew about how our food is processed, we probably wouldn't eat.
