What are the chances that you'll get a double yolk when cracking an egg?!
Answers: I just made some scrambled eggs, and ended up with 2 yolks from 1 egg. How often does this happen?
I heard 1 - 1000
However. Check out this picture

it's very unlikely I've been cooking with eggs my whole life because i love to cook and i have never gotten to yolks so it's very unlikely because if you get two yolks it means siamese chicks which is pretty rare
Not sure, but i got 2 yolks last week.
Unless you live on a farm the chances are very unlikely. Eggs are passed though a scanning system to take those out. I guess if you found one, it got though somehow.
It means siamese chicks which is very rare about 1 out of one million!! WOW SWEET!
At the egg farms the eggs are all on a conveyor belt going through the "candling" machine. There are workers who stand and look at these eggs all day long, they are to remove any which have double or extra large yolks from the packing line.
Sometimes they do miss, maybe one egg in a million!!!
The eggs that are removed from the candling machine get cracked into large barrels and quick frozen for Institutional use or commercial use.
Not too many eggs get by with double yolks.
We used to get more at the farm, because they were not candled and were usually that morning's gather of eggs. Then it was maybe 1 in a hundred.
oh my god i would love that!
Our plumbers wife raises chickens and we buy eggs from her. We get a double yolk about one in every 2 or 3 dozen eggs. We very occasionally get a triple yolked egg. Those are a site to behold!
so i always thought one in a dozen boxes or so....my hubby made eggs and 2 days in a row, same box/ he got double yolks! how odd???
