Why do americans like food out of cans?!
Answers: Dogs and cats eat out of cans.
Quite honestly it is sickening.
We are lazy individuals who want instant gratification with no respect to quality. That is why so many of us are fat and unhealthy. My answer might not be popular but it's the truth. You go to france, and you will walk to the baker to get your bread, the market to get your produce, and the butcher to get your meat. Then you will go home and prepare it. Here we don't even remove our fat asses from our car to get our Quarter Pounder w/ Extra Cheese and LG Fries w/ a Biggie Coke!
I tend to think it is a form of natural selection.
There was a study done that says if you treat people like animals that is how they will act.
I go to culinary school and the way fast food is made and canned food is made is purely disgusting. It's the lowest quality meat available (barely even worthy of being garbage) ....it's called cutter/canner meat...and it gets processed and ground up and then reshaped to be visually appealing then soy or corn filler gets added...that way they can give us the bare minumum amount of meat and just bulk it up w/ filler.
If we are willing to accept it then do we really deserve better?
No wonder obesiety and heart disease is at an all time high.
Actually, you should scoop the dog or cat food out of the can so that they can eat it better and do not cut themselves...
caned "food "is quick,but has very little food value go for fresh whenever possible.i don't even feed my dog caned food.
I guess it's because they are quick to open and devour the contents!
I dont think most people like food out of cans they just use it as a quick way to eat when time is an issue.. I really dont know anyone that eats a regular diet of canned foods
As a Canadian who likes food out of cans, I can only guess...
Probably because it's usually cheap, easy, and tasty.
For example I really love tuna salad sandwiches. You take canned tuna and mix it with mayonaisse and maybe some relish, then put that between two slices of fresh bread with some lettuce. Yum!
Then there's chilli, which is really healthy and delicious. You need canned kidney beans and canned tomatoes for a basic chilli. You slow cook this with veggies and sometimes meat, mixed with spices (chilli pepper powder), etc.
Some of my other favourite canned food would be clam chowder (of course it's better home-made, but sometimes you really don't have the time to do that), kippers (a delicious type of herring fillets), and mushrooms (I really like fresh ones too, but canned ones have a nice distinct flavour which is sometimes really nice on pizza).

I don't know about any other Americans, but this American loves canned food. I won't eat anything unless it's fresh outta da can. Plus I like the convenience of not having to dirty any dishes, because one has already been provided.
I don't like canned vegetables. I buy fresh or frozen. However, I do use some canned soup. My dog eats dry dog food from the Pet bakery. I can't stand the smell of canned dog food.
Don't know what country or planet you come from, but I have been to over 30 countries and they all eat canned foods. It's always about Americans. Can anyone say "SPOTLIGHT"?
