Why does 'lyons golden syrup' have a picture of a dead lion on it??!


Question: i was just very curious because my friends pointed it out to me and i thought it was odd that there was a dead lion with flies flying around it on the label of Lyons golden syrup......
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHYY????

possibly because "Samson" got honey from the carcus of a dead lion.

It's actually "Lyle's" Golden Syrup. Their website confirms the biblical reference origin:
