What is a good blender for making smoothies, guacamole & mixed drinks?!
Answers: i would say, go to the store, out of all the blenders pick the one in the price range right above the cheapest one. :) I think that one will work well!

You don't say where you are in the world; if you're in North America, it would be a blender by Hamilton Beach - no question.
Cheers
The Magic Bullet. i've had many but like this one the most.
i love the oster blender
good, sturdy, and you wont burn the motor out.
I'm a chef and use it all the time for lots of things.
IE sauces, drinks, crushes ice and works well with hot things like soups you need pureed

I think any blender can do the jobs that you're asking. It's just a matter of how much money you're willing to spend. If you're going for the economic approach, just get any old blender, seriously.
The Blendtec blender seems to be great at doing just about anything. They have counter top and in the counter models.
Professional chefs use Vita Mix blenders, they're incredibly powerful and can blend ANYTHING. It might be expensive, I'm not sure, but it would be very worth it.
You just put the ingrediants in your mouth, chew it up, mush it around well, spit it out. Then you do the same with the ice.
No need for a blender. I do this all the time.
