What the heck happened to the food network?!
Answers: I am sitting here with the TV on in the background and Mark Summers is telling me about candy packaging???? What happened to this channel? Its a COOKING channel!!!! How do people tolerate this crap.
I think you're right.. I don't watch it anywhere near what I used to. The only thing I think I watch on there anymore is 'Diners, Drive-ins and Dives' and I know that's one of the shows that you're talking about kinda. I'm just checking the guide on the TV right now and it kinda looks like any of the actual cooking shows are on early, early Saturday morning,,,,,,,,,,, 30-minute meals; Giada; Tyler's Ultimate; Jamie at Home; Semi-Homemade; Paula's Home Cooking; Down Home... that's until about 10 a.m. tomorrow morning... some I've heard of... some I haven't ... then they start getting into all the shows you are talking about... I stopped watching the Food Network awhile ago when all that started happening.
its a food channel.....food network
they talk abotu food...not just cooking
plus its interesting knowing hwere your food comes from
gosh.
It is on channel 60 I think
It all went downhill when they took away the real Iron Chef :(
the best shows come on in the morning. the real cooking...paula dean, giada, bobby flay, just watch it earlier or TiVo and watch it later
Yeah, good point, I was wondering the same thing myself lately. I think they may have lost Rachel Ray and Giada Delaurentis, but they need to get some better prime time programming, that's for sure. How the heck did they miss out on Top Chef for goodness sakes?
You are watching it on a Friday night at 11:30...of course there is nothing on. During the day/ early evening is when all the shows that give recipes are on. The late night shows are more reality/game/challenge based.
Do what I do, switch to something else for something else for half an hour, and if the worst come to worst, wrestle with the vacuum cleaner or something similar around the house.
Survival, if they paid for every show to be produced and all you had was new cooking shows all the time it would cost $$$. I think they spend a lot less if they just send a cameraman into factories and restaurants.
Just a guess.
i would say that people could if they had the time but if i can't i would just bust the channel
That sounds like a pretty lame thing to have on the Food Network. Who really cares about candy packaging! Sounds like they have run out of interesting shows to put on. Maybe you should just record your favourite shows so you can watch them when you are home and have time to enjoy them.
There are so many programs on now that are competing with each other that they try to get more viewers interested. I just turn it off, I don't really care how candy is packaged. Now if you want to show me how to make it in my own kitchen, go for it.
i dont mind knowing a few tricks on how to wrap my food or how to place my butt on the nicest newly renovated restaurants, its just an evolution for the concept of food "network" . Candy wrapping may well be the same as how to decorate your cake or garnishing your food.
But it bores me to death watching semi-food related portions.
I agree. At first I learned from it and enjoyed watching. The last few years are pretty dim. I am now watching America's Test Kitchen on PBS - it is the BEST for learning the why as well as the how.
either your really young, or your a really lame. Sitting at home on a friday night watching the food network. And your on the cpu. I have a excuse, I work at home.
