Why can't you refrigerate bananas?!
Answers: Sorry I can't spell... But my mom says I can't but why?
you can but they rot faster and just don't taste good
its not that you CAN'T... its actually because the inside peeling on bananas will actually stay on the bananas when you try peeling them after they've been refrigerated... trust me, it doesn't taste good. i have also found that bananas tend to get browner FASTER if you refrigerate them. finally, bananas just don't take good cold! :)
they suggest refridgerating bananas to keep them from bruising. they will turn dark on the outside but peel them and you'll see, still good on the inside. test: leave 1 out on the counter, and 1 in the fridge. i'm right.
you can but it taste god awful
I know of people who do because they think they will last longer. But, they don't last any longer inside a refrigerator than they do on a counter top.
i don't know what reason your mom has ..we refrigerate our bananas :)
we eat three kinds of bananas....only the Cavendish(large light green in color) are not good to be refrigerated.
Special Treatment for Bananas, bananas are always picked when they are green. They do not need any special care to ripen. They go from green to yellow in a few days. The brown speckles on bananas are called "honey spots." When a banana has honey spots, it is very sweet and ready to eat. Bananas can be stored in the refrigerator after they ripen too. The skin will turn dark brown or black but the banana inside will be fresh.
Banana are good to put in the fridge, put a banana in with the red meat, like a steak and the meat will last longer, keeps it from spoiling.
