What is the best way to store FRESH strawberries?!
Answers: We know that fresh strawberries spoil VERY quickly, so we were wondering if we could slice them up and stick them in the freezer... will that work? You know, for like salads and cereal and stuff. We got them at one of those stands on the side of the road, and they are SO good, we will be devastated if they go bad! All answers are greatly appreciated, please say how long they will last and all details to your answer. Thanks a TON and God bless you all!
When you get strawberries home don't wash them. Wait until you're ready to use them and then a quick rinse...never let them sit in water or they will get mushy and watery. Keep them cool in the fridge.
Slicing them and putting a small amount of sugar or sugar substitute on them in a plastic container will do nicely for the freezer. They will keep that way for a few months.
I know, I love strawberries too and can't wait for them to come into season here. Yum!
I love the ones from California, yes you can freeze them. they make great smoothies Mine don't last that long but generally up to 3 mos.
In your Tum
yep that will work just don't microwave them they may turn to mush. u can keep them in plastic tupperwear containers in the refrigerator. or vacumm seal them. i don't like it when strawberries go bad, they can be kind of expenisive where i am an its a shame when they go to waste.
Make preserves, jam and concentrate for juice now.
Its fun, will start a spring tradition and these products freeze well.

ok, store whole in your frig for a dew days (2 to 3) do not slice unless you are going to eat them because when they brown that means you are loosing the vitamin c from the strawberry and strawberries have more amounts of vitamin c than a citrus orange. They only will be good 2 to 3 days do not wash them until you are ready to eat them, that is another way they spoil.
You mean they last that long in your house? In our house, strawberries are scoffed continuously until there are no more!
Strawberry pancakes for brekkie tomorrow, yum!
