Is it true that sushi can cause you to have tape worms?!

Question: Oprah had a doctor on her show explaining the causes of undetected tape worms & listed sushi..with that asked is there another way to prepare it so that I can stop thinking I have a tape worm everytime I'm out to have sushi.

Yep! That's right! there is no other way to prepare it. If it is raw and it has worms you get them, thats it.

If you go to a reputable sushi restaurant, the sushi chef will examine the fish and be able to detect the presence of worms and cut out the corrupted parts. That's a reputable restaurant.

A doctor can prescribe a poison that will kill the worms and will probably make you feel ill for a short time, but clean them out of your system. Didn't your Doctor tell you you can get them (worms) from unwashed fruit and vegetables too? It is all about cleanliness with everything you eat. If you think too hard on this subject you will never eat out again. You save money eat healthy and live a boring life.

I have an alcoholic friend that swears by drinking hot sake while he eats, saying it kills anything bad in the fish. Personally I think he's doing such a good job killing himself that the worms aren't interested in his body.

Well good luck!

I guess if someone could look in there, maybe I could agree

I think tape worms can be found in raw meat, so if you're eating one of those raw salmon sushis maybe, but if it's a cucumber sushi or something, it should be fine =)

If thier are tapeworms in the sushi...

Tapeworms are most likely consuming your body as I write this. A tapeworm just continues to grow inside you especially if you eat healthy food. Have you ever had a tickle in your throat?.......Uh-huh!!!

It can be possible because fish such as mackeral and yellow tail are known to have worms actually embedded in their meat. and to eat it raw,,, its pretty sick.

I'm a huge fan of sushi but when I heard that sushi cooks just scrape off any worm they find on the sushi they are working on, I turned to pastas.

no
