The first answer is wrong since 1.555 is way more than 2/3rds of 1.75. That would leave only .20 pounds left, which is much less than 1/3 of 1.75

1 3/4 =7/4
7/4*2/3 = (7*4) / (4*3)

so two thirds of 7/4ths is 14/12ths

so you ate 1.166 pounds
