How long after the "best by" date can you eat food?!

Question: zero, unless you don't have any food

Answers: zero, unless you don't have any food

depends on the food
dried food = till after 2-3 weeks
raw food = till after 3-4 days

Best by date is something that the industry goes by to ensure full flavor...it doesn't mean that on that day, it will go bad.
As long as you kept it at the same temperature when bough. You should be able to eat it past the BEST BY date...

if it's not something highly perishable that could make you sick then I would say as long as it still looks and smells okay then it's probably fine. personally just to be safe I would throw it out.

you shouldn't eat food when it goes bad unless you are really hungry...lol..

It depends on the food. I wouldn't eat expired meat. But something like cereal should be okay. Might be a little stale though.

The best buy date just ensures freshness.

I say 5 days.
