How would you know if a coconut has a lot of meat in it without opening it?!

Question: *I hope u are talking abt the green coconuts !!!
If the coconut has lots of water [u will know on shaking the fruit ], then the meat/malai is minimum and the water is also not so sweet ;
But lesser the water, the sweeter it is , & more the malai/meat !!!!
So go in for a coconut with less water !!!!

Shake it.
Less water, more meat...

The amount of water will determine it. The more water, less there is meat, so shake it and if it feels that it doesn't have that much water it will have more meat.

Basically: Less water = more meat. Go for the nut which feels heavy for its size

You don't. If there is no liquid in a ripe (brown) coconut, it is no good. The bigger the coconut, the more meat in it.
