Anyone know a "secret" to keeping potatoes fresher longer?!

Question: Separate potatoes with minor defects, such as bruises and cracks, from the rest. Use the potatoes with minor imperfections before the others.

Find a cool, dark place with good air circulation. Potatoes should be stored at a temperature between 45 and 50 degrees F. A refrigerator's vegetable crisper is often a good place to store potatoes.

Move onions and garlic away from the place you plan to store your potatoes.

Pick a container. You may store your potatoes in the plastic bag in which they came or you can invest in a brown paper bag or burlap sack to further increase freshness.

Add an apple to the bag of potatoes. An apple may prevent potatoes from budding early. In addition, keep a fresh lemon near the bag of potatoes.
:
Put the bag of potatoes in the vegetable crisper.

Take only the potatoes you intend to use out of the bag.

Remove potatoes that show signs of spoilage to prevent spoiling the entire bag.

My aunt told me that keeping them in a paper bag would do the trick

Take out of original bag and put in a cool, dark place. Not in the refrigerator or they turn sweet.
