Bought green and red jalapenos?!

Question: recently but the red ones seemed to have a bit of a sweetness to them. i went back to buy more a couple weeks later and they were more hot than the green ones this time...

does anyone know the name of a variety of red that is a bit sweet? i'd like to grow them for my own use, and some regular green ones too

most peppers mature through different colors - starting green then going on to yellow, orange or red. So they probably were both jalapenos picked at different times.

First answer is correct. Same variety but the reds are riper and have a sweeter taste.
